German Accusative Case
The accusative case marks many direct objects in German.
Examples
Ich sehe den Mann.
I see the man.
der Mann becomes den Mann.
Lara kauft den Kaffee.
Lara buys the coffee.
der Kaffee becomes den Kaffee.
Wir lesen die Antwort.
We read the answer.
die does not visibly change here.
Common mistake
For masculine nouns, der changes to den when the noun is the direct object.
